How it works

A clearer way to move between calendars.

Converter gives you a straightforward way to compare Hijri and Gregorian dates, understand the result, and continue planning with tools built around the same calendar data.

Open the converter

The short version

Pick the calendar you are starting with, enter a valid date, and select Convert. The result shows the matching date in both calendar systems, with a readable month name and an option to convert back.

01 / Convert a date

Start with the calendar you know

On the main converter, choose Gregorian or Hijri under “Convert From.” Gregorian dates use the familiar solar calendar. Hijri dates follow the Islamic lunar calendar, with months containing 29 or 30 days.

Enter the day, month, and year in the three fields, then select Convert. You can also press Enter from a date field to submit the form.

02 / Check the input

Useful feedback before a result

The converter checks that all fields contain whole numbers, that the month and year are positive, and that the day can exist in the selected calendar. Gregorian leap years and month lengths are checked automatically; Hijri days must be between 1 and 30.

Accuracy note: Hijri dates can differ by a day between calculated calendars and local moon-sighting practices. Treat the result as a helpful reference for planning and confirm important religious dates with your local authority.

03 / Read the result

See both dates at a glance

A completed conversion displays the numeric date and a readable format for both Gregorian and Hijri. This makes it easier to copy a date into a planner, compare a historical reference, or check an upcoming occasion.

Select “Swap & Convert Back” to use the returned date as your new input. This is useful when you want to verify the direction of a conversion without typing the date again.

04 / Use today as a starting point

Check today’s calendar pair

Select Today to reset the form to the current Gregorian date. Convert it to see the corresponding Hijri date immediately. Switching the source calendar also refreshes the fields with the current date in that calendar.

Beyond conversion

Keep planning with the right tool
